Nonviolence

Nonviolence is a project with which we want to open a discussion in Vážka na niti on the topic of domestic violence, prevention of domestic violence and identification of potential domestic violence. Part of the Nonviolence project are campaigns where we present what forms of domestic violence we can encounter, the Signal for help campaign, opening an anonymous counseling center, organizing workshops where victims of domestic violence present their stories and a series of lectures "Close relationships without violence".

Thanks to the support of the Olga Havel Foundation, we opened a domestic violence counseling center and the Nonviolence project. Thanks to cooperation, we are opening a therapeutic counseling center for families, victims of domestic violence and for children who have encountered any form of domestic violence.

We adapt the therapeutic consultation to the requirements of our clients.

A family without shouting

Family without shouting is a project that looks at domestic violence from the other side, from the side of the "aggressor". Targeted therapeutic activities with the initiators of domestic violence and the establishment of a support group for victims of domestic violence. A family crisis and violence in the family affects the entire family, in most cases the initiator of domestic violence returns to the family and at that given moment it is necessary to set other patterns of behavior. Part of the Family Without Screaming is targeted therapy, the search for the origin and causes of aggression.

What is domestic violence?

Domestic violence is behavior that causes one partner to fear the other. It is violence that takes place in private and is sometimes not visible from the outside, and detection is often difficult. It is the relationship of the abuser and the victim in the same household, where the violence often escalates. Since the violence is hidden in private, it is necessary for the victim to seek help before tragic situations can occur. The victim has the option of contacting the police or a number of non-governmental organizations that deal with helping victims of domestic violence (DN). Domestic violence is not only about disagreements between partners, but also about violence against children, parents and other members of the common household. We can be the first step to help, we will give you the necessary courage and guide you to help.In the case of domestic violence, it is necessary for the victim to seek the necessary help in time and take steps to protect themselves, their loved ones, children or parents.

In this area, social worker B.c. provides advice. Marcela Šipošová DiS. and counselor Kamila Sainerová, DiS., a psychotherapist and a lawyer also work with us. We have experience and established cooperation with agencies within social housing, food aid, authorities, OSPOD, courts, police, non-profits and schools. All of the mentioned colleagues in the beginning mainly on a voluntary basis. We deal with counseling and support in difficult family situations, especially in the area of domestic violence. In general, violence in our society is unfortunately becoming more frequent, especially against women, but also against the elderly and men. We try our best with the appropriate humility and empathy to at least alleviate the hardships of our clients and at least a little to help clients who are at risk in this way. This social area is very sensitive... Violence behind closed doors is invisible and sometimes ends tragically. The best prevention is communication, psychological help and above all a quick reaction to the situation. We draw on many years of experience in this field.

#signalforhelp

A gesture that can save a human life.

This is a gesture that can be used by a vulnerable person when communicating with the environment. And that whether during direct communication or e.g. during a video call. The gesture is not accompanied by any words and the threatened person shows that he needs help. It is an international gesture that originated in Canada and thanks to its spread it can currently be used almost all over the world.

The gesture itself is represented by the threatened person by opening his palm and pointing it with outstretched fingers, for example, to the camera or to someone with whom he is in contact or who sees him. Then he bends his thumb into his palm and hides the thumb with outstretched fingers. So a fist with a hidden thumb inside is created

#prevention of torture and abuse of children

In the Czech Republic, approximately 14% of children are affected by family violence. Everyone can have children or entire families in their environment who are dealing with such a situation. We can only deal with violence by not trivializing it, ignoring it, treating it as something that does not concern us.

On November 19, when it is the World Day for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Torture, let's show together that any form of violence against children is unacceptable for society.

Drumming is an event of the LOCIKA Center, which draws attention to the importance of protecting children from violence in the family. By drumming, we symbolically give a voice to abused children. These are often invisible to society. This year, Dragonfly on the thread and her children joined Bubnovačka and we were heard

don't be alone

The topic of violence in close relationships is not avoided even in the school environment. It is all the more important that pedagogical experts have at their disposal clear and concise instructions on how they can help children in such cases. The LOCIKA Center has therefore prepared a series of contributions from experts of various specializations (clinical psychology, crisis intervention, socio-legal protection of children, criminology). The experts answered the questions from the school environment that we most often encounter at the LOCIKA Center. The result is practical procedures for dealing with domestic violence in the context of Czech schools.
